Professor Su Dan of Tsinghua University Gaves an Academic Lecture at the College

On the afternoon of December 5, 2019, Professor Su Dan, Deputy Director of the Art Museum of Tsinghua University, Professor of the College of Fine Arts of Tsinghua University, Vice Dean of the Institute of Culture and Economics of Tsinghua University, famous designer, design educator, critic and art curator, Professor Su Dan was invited to the College of Art to give a lecture on "Environmental Awareness in Design". The lecture was held in the Art Light Lecture Hall, presided over by Dean Zhao Hui, all teachers and students majoring in environmental design, teachers and students of related majors in the college, as well as teachers and students from fraternal colleges and universities listened to the lecture and interacted with Professor Su.

Taking contemporary art as the breakthrough point, Professor Su expounded the profound influence of contemporary art on design discipline, which reflected profound humanistic care and highly speculative philosophical thoughts. By showing the professional exhibitions and design works he planned in recent years, the relationship between man and environment, man and nature, man and self, contemporary art and contemporary design can be explained in a simple way. And the possibility of interdisciplinary research and practice of environmental design specialty was prospected. After the lecture, Professor Su had an in-depth exchange with classmates.


In recent years, the College of Art has adhered to the idea of going out and bringing in, and has invited scholars, professors and well-known designers from the industry to come to our college for lectures and exchanges for many times. Colorful lectures can promote the prosperity of campus culture, enliven academic atmosphere, encourage theoretical research and academic innovation, etc. This lecture is one of the series activities of "International Designers Entering Campus".
